Consumer's Guide to Nursing - This information is published
by the Nebraska Health and Human Services System.
How
to Become a Licensed Practical Nurse - A general description
of the educational requirements and a listing of the schools providing
these programs.
What
Does the LPN Do? - This site offers information on the role
of the LPN according to Nebraska statutes.
The Supply and Demand for Licensed Practical Nurses and Registered Nurses in Nebraska - is a model created by the Nebraska Center for Nursing to help predict nursing workforce shortage cycles and calls for creative ways to retain and build the nursing workforce.
Grants
LPNAN offers two annual grants. One to a practical nursing student and one to a LPN who wants to become certified as a LPN-C or LPN-CLTC. Applications for the grants will be distributed in mid-December 2008. Applications for the grants are due by March 31, 2009. Recipients of the grants will be notified after June 1, 2009. The grant money must be used between June 1, 2009, and May 31, 2010. Recipients of the grants will be recognized during the LPNAN Annual Convention Awards Lunch on October 22, 2009, at the New World Inn in Columbus.
LPN of the Year Award
The Nebraska LPN of the Year Award recognizes one LPN in the state who has contributed greatly to the profession and the community. Applications for the award will be distributed in April 2009 and are due by July 31, 2009. The award will be presented at the LPNAN Annual Convention Awards Luncheon on October 22, 2009, at the New World Inn in Columbus.
