A
Brief History of NHCA
The
Nebraska Health Care Association (NHCA), founded in 1948 as the
Nebraska Nursing Home Association, represents over 90 percent of
the licensed non-profit, for-profit, government owned, and faith-based
long term care facilities in Nebraska. It is the only such association
in Nebraska dedicated to serving all types of long term care facilities
throughout the state.
The
primary objective of NHCA is: "Encouraging and promoting principles
and programs designed to provide Nebraska with long term care facilities
wherein the residents receive, at reasonable charges, the best possible
medical, nursing, and personal care with the total effort directed
toward each resident's maximum ability and potential."
NHCA
works closely with state and federal government agencies and other
professional associations in an effort to ensure sound and effective
standards of care as well as development and implementation of legislation
and government regulations. Overall management and policy of NHCA
is the responsibility of the Board of Directors and Officers of
NHCA in accordance with the Bylaws. NHCA is a charter member and
strong supporter of our national organization, American Health Care
Association, and each individual member of NHCA is also a member
of the American Health Care Association in Washington, D.C.
Duties

organizations
