SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

The Nebraska Health Care Foundation is offering RN, LPN, and Dietary scholarships for persons who have worked in long term care facilities and seek to upgrade their education. In addition, scholarships are presented annually that enable individuals to attend the NALA Assisted Living Administrator Training. The scholarships are awarded at the Annual Convention and are for the following year's Assisted Living Administrator Training. There will also be a Nursing Home Administrator scholarship and NHCA Student Membership scholarships offered.

The original scholarship fund was established through memorials in honor of Margaret C. "Peg" Freshman and donations from Jerry Milder, a past President of the Nebraska Health Care Association.

The following scholarships will be awarded at the Annual Convention:

• Three (3) scholarships in the amount of $1,000 will be offered to individuals wishing to attend an RN School of Nursing.
• Six (6) $750 scholarships are offered to individuals wishing to attend an LPN School of Nursing.
• Four (4) $500 scholarships are offered to individuals wishing to attend a dietary or food service school or program.
• Two (2) $450 scholarships will be offered to individuals wishing to attend the NALA Assisted Living Administrator Training.
• One (1) $500 scholarship will be offered to an individual wishing to attend a Nursing Home Administrator program.
• Five (5) $50 NHCA Student Membership scholarships will be offered to individuals enrolling in a Nursing Home Administrator program.

Funds for the nursing scholarships are made available through the generosity of Health Care Information Systems and the Vetter Foundation in conjunction with the Nebraska Health Care Foundation, Inc.

Funds for the dietary scholarships are made available through the generosity of Pegler Sysco in conjunction with the Nebraska Health Care Foundation, Inc.

Funds for the Assisted Living Administrator Training scholarships, Nursing Home Administrator scholarship, and the NHCA Student Membership scholarships are made available through the Nebraska Health Care Foundation, Inc.

Scholarship applications which outline eligibility requirements and deadlines are sent to each member facility in the spring. Contact the Nebraska Health Care Association office for additional application forms if needed.
