Director of Assisted Living

Good Shepherd Lutheran Community is seeking qualified individuals to join our experienced team. The ideal candidate will be energetic and passionate about delivering high quality care to the residents that we serve.

Primary Function:

Incumbent works under the direction of the Administrator or designee and in compliance with State/Federal statutes and regulations governing Assisted Living and HUD. Incumbent is responsible for day-to-day administration and oversite of programs and financial operations; planning, development, implementation, evaluation and improvement of program services; management of staff; and for the delivery of high quality services.

Overview of Duties and Responsibilities:

Completes admission, certification, recertification and discharge requirements for tenants in Assisted Living and HUD.


Bachelor’s Degree in health, human services and/or management field of study desirable.

Assisted Living Administrator license preferred.

Three years of experience in the health care, human services, management and/or community services field preferred.

LPN nursing license preferred.

Must possess strong organizational, leadership and time management skills.

Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the English language.

Overview of Physical Demands:

Work is typically indoors in a healthcare environment. Noise level is usually moderate, but may on occasion be loud.

Must be able to lift, push and pull a minimum of 50 pounds. Physical abilities include extended periods of walking/standing and the ability to kneel, crouch and bend.

Must be able to deal with multiple interruptions. Work may be stressful when faced with multiple demands.

Must be able to talk and hear within normal ranges. Visual abilities must be correctable to normal ranges. Manual dexterity needed to operate equipment.
