Day to Day functions:

Director of Nursing will plan, organize, implement and direct the Nursing department as well as evaluate its programs and activities.  The DON will also monitor the administration of resident care on a 24 hour basis.

DON will comply with state/federal regulations and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility. Candidate will develop, maintain, and review written policies ad procedures, make written and oral reports, and follow job descriptions for each level of personnel.

Develop and maintain ongoing care plans, assurance programs, hire nursing staff , train  staff, prepare staff appraisals, disciplinary actions and address and resolve complaints and problems within the department.

Ensure that the highest degree of quality care is provided at all times.

Participate in all admissions and processes with management team as well as discharge planning for residents.

Preform administrative duties and processes with management team.

Participate in facility surveys and infection control needs. Continue to monitor Covid -19  policies and procedures in facility

Preform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, charting, etc. as necessary.

Develop staff schedule, make daily rounds, monitor staff absenteeism and review complaints and grievances.

Assistant Director of Nursing, RN Duties:

Job Description


The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a highly motivated, self-starter to oversee all State and Federal regulatory compliance in all four of our facilities throughout the state. Qualifications / Requirements

Successful incumbents will possess a Bachelors Degree in Nursing, as well as at least 10 years of experience, five years of quality assurance or quality control in a clinical setting and supervisory experience. Any combination of education and experience will be considered.


Knowledge, skills and abilities

Knowledge of state long-term care regulations, USVA care facilities regulations, professional licensing requirements and accreditation requirements. In addition to CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services). Strong knowledge in math and metrics as well as proficiency in Five Stars Analytics is preferred.

Nursing Assistant and Medication Aide State Tester

Nebraska Health Care Learning Center, a private, post-secondary career school, seeks enthusiastic and hard-working adjunct instructors to test Nursing Assistant and Medication Aide classes on Saturdays in Lincoln, Neb. Other days and hours are available. Candidates should have a sound understanding of the role of the Basic Nursing Assistant and Medication Aide in health care. The position involves testing Basic Nursing Assistant and/or Medication Aide students on scope of practice, skills competency, clinical experience, and codes of conduct within their positions in health care facilities. Adjunct instructors, who must be an RN to test, will work closely with NHCLC’s Lead Instructor. One to two years of experience in long-term care is required. NHCLC is an affiliate of the Nebraska Health Care Association.

This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule. Pay is $25 per hour.
