Are you enthusiastic about building a team of compassionate caregivers? If so, we have an opening for a Director of Nursing (DON) on the management team of Plum Creek Care Center, our Skilled Nursing Facility in Lexington, Nebraska.

The DON is responsible to lead our clinical team with high-quality care standards to ensure excellent resident care. Plans, organizes, and directs nursing services. Schedules staff.

You will ensure that each nurse on staff is properly certified and abides by the standards for care established by our organization and state and federal laws. The DON is responsible for creating new policies and updating existing ones to help improve the level of care for each patient.

Implement quality-improvement programs designed to help us deliver the highest possible level of service. Ensure that all patient care plans have the documentation necessary to provide the proper type of care. The DON maintains relationships with healthcare providers and hospitals in the local community. This position is supported by our corporate operations teams, human resources, and recruiting to establish us as a premier employer and provider of healthcare services.


  • Thorough understanding of regulatory process, MDS and care planning.
  • Active/unencumbered RN license.
  • Three to five years’ experience in skilled nursing, post-acute or long-term care.
  • Proficiency with Point-Click Care preferred, but not required.
  • At least one year of supervisory experience in a long-term care setting as a Charge Nurse or DON. Strong, historical survey results.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory compliance, current knowledge of MDS and PDPM preferred.
  • Strong recruiting and team-building skills; excellent resource management; written and verbal communication skills.
