Directed Health Measures
Your safety and well-being are NHCA’s top priority. The event will follow Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department directed health measures (DHMs) in place at the time the event is held.
Content
The ICD-10-CM program will provide instructions in assigning ICD-10-CM codes to diagnoses using the ICD-10-CM code book, exercises to assure participants understand how to utilize the ICD-10-CM code book, and information regarding documentation requirements.
Objectives
At the completion of this training, the participant will be able to:
- Define ICD-10-CM code structure, organization, and guidelines.
- Correctly assign ICD-10-CM codes using the ICD-10-CM code book.
- Apply information regarding clinical documentation to assure codes are assigned to the highest specificity.
Audience
This program is appropriate for MDS coordinators, medical records staff, nursing home administrators, nurses, and billing personnel in nursing facilities.
Continuing Education Credit
This education program meets the continuing competency requirements of 6 hours for the renewal/reinstatement of a Nebraska Nursing Home Administrator’s license as granted by the Nebraska Board of Nursing Home Administrators. This program does not meet the criteria for continuing education for nurses.

PARTICIPANTS MUST BRING A 2022 ICD-10-CM CODE MANUAL.
