Directed Health Measures
Your safety and well-being are NHCA’s top priority. The event will follow Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department directed health measures (DHMs) in place at the time the event is held.
This training will provide a focused look at key factors an administrator or other facility leadership need to know about the Minimum Data Set (MDS). Understanding the process, its intent, and the regulatory requirements will be discussed. This training will help administrators better understand the assessment process, why quality measures trigger, and explore recent changes.
At the completion of this program, participants will be able to:
- Explain the RAI process and the scope of the RAI’s impact.
- Define how MDS accuracy effects the skilled nursing facility quality measures.
- Discuss the importance of providing supporting documentation.
- Describe the impact of the RAI process on reimbursement.
- Identify the impact of the RAI process on survey outcomes.
- Develop person-centered care plans through Care Area Assessments.
- Recognize coding errors and how to avoid them.
This program is appropriate for all staff in nursing facilities.

Registrants will have the option to attend in-person or virtually. Each attendee will designate in-person or virtual format during registration. Registrants must attend in the format in which they are registered. Lunch will be provided.
Continuing Education Credit
This education program meets the continuing competency requirements of 4 hours for the renewal/reinstatement of a Nebraska Nursing Home Administrator’s license as granted by the Nebraska Board of Nursing Home Administrators. This program meets the criteria of an approved continuing education program for social work. This program meets the criteria for continuing education of 4 hours for nurses. This program is appropriate continuing education for activity coordinators. Participants must stay in the education program the entire time to receive full credit.
Printed handouts will not be provided. Handouts will be available online. Registrants will receive a link to the handouts prior to the program. Be sure to include your email address on the registration form.
