Directed Health Measures
Your safety and well-being are NHCA’s top priority. The event will follow Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department directed health measures (DHMs) in place at the time the course is held. NHCA will update registrants of the most current DHMs as the event date approaches.
Whether you are a new nursing facility administrator or sharpening your skills, this program is designed to deliver a range of key information that you need to help shape success in your operation.
The Nursing Facility Administrator Intensive will include information and discussion on the facility survey process, risk management practices, abuse and neglect reporting, employment practices, collections tools, resident assessment, and financial survivability. Key items will include identifying where to access the necessary resources to navigate new initiatives such as the Quality Reporting Program, Patient-Driven Payment Model, Five-Star Quality Rating, and Payroll-Based Journal staffing.
At the completion of the program, participants will be able to:
- Explain how to prepare for and navigate the survey process, including options for disputing citations
- Identify resources to help achieve success within the new Medicare initiatives
- Discuss the importance of financial survivability
- Identify best practices in the areas of risk management and employment
Continuing Education Credit
This education program meets the continuing competency requirements of 14 hours for the renewal/reinstatement of a Nebraska Nursing Home Administrator’s license. This program does not meet the criteria for continuing education for nurses.
This program is appropriate for nursing facility administrators.

Registrants will have the option to attend in person or virtually. Each attendee will designate in-person or virtual format during registration. Registrants must attend in the format in which they are registered. Lunch will be on your own.
If you are attending virtually, an internet connection is required. NHCA uses ZOOM as the webinar platform. You may participate from any computer and most mobile devices that have internet access. However, to receive full credit, you must be logged into the ZOOM app through your computer or mobile device. Visit https://zoom.us/test to test if your computer is ready for a ZOOM session and to download the latest application. The audio portion of this webinar is run through the computer rather than a phone line. A computer with external speakers or headset is needed; a microphone and/or webcam is required. This event’s registration fees have been adjusted to reflect that lunch and snacks are not included. However, coffee, tea, water, and soda will be provided. NHCA will also provide maps and coupons to local establishments. Please plan lunch breaks accordingly.
