Directed Health Measures
Your safety and well-being are NHCA’s top priority. The event will follow Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department directed health measures (DHMs) in place at the time the course is held. NHCA will update registrants of the most current DHMs as the event date approaches.
This workshop will include information and discussion on effective communication with consumers, successful interactions with media, and engaging your community to build trust. Other key items that will be discussed are addressing consumer needs and fears, engaging potential staff, and embracing storytelling in social media.
At the completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Identify traits of an effective public relations team.
- Establish a plan for interactions with the media.
- Explain how to regain trust in the community following the pandemic.
- Describe innovative ways to engage consumers.
- Identify new ways to recruit staff.
- Understand storytelling in media.
This education program meets the continuing competency requirements for six hours for administrators in nursing facilities and assisted living communities. This program does not meet the criteria for continuing education for nurses.
This program is designed for administrators, directors, and media relations coordinators in nursing facilities and assisted living communities.

Registrants will have the option to attend in person or virtually. Each attendee will designate in-person or virtual format during registration. Registrants must attend in the format in which they are registered. Lunch will be provided.
