Restorative Nurse/Restorative Aide Program November 6, 2019

Participants will learn how to design a restorative nursing program that keeps the facility in compliance with federal law and state surveys and promotes keeping residents at their highest functional level physically, mentally and psychosocially. The program will also focus on how restorative nursing can impact the MDS, the Medicare RUG rate, and Medicaid case mix index. Specific training will be provided on integrating the multidisciplinary team with restorative services for carryover of services into everyday life and activity.

STRUCTURING YOUR RESTORATIVE NURSING PROGRAM

OBJECTIVES
At the completion of the program, participants will be able to:
1. Define restorative nursing including the OBRA mandate for restorative nursing and how it affects the facility and residents.
2. Identify the roles, levels and goals of restorative nursing in the facility and how to support those services.
3. Identify Medicare A and Common Medicare Infrastructure strategies to facilitate increased resident function and potential facility revenue opportunities.

 

RESTORATIVE NURSE/RESTORATIVE AIDE PROGRAM

OBJECTIVES
At the completion of the program, participants will be able to:
1. Identify the roles, levels and goals of restorative nursing in a facility including how to support those services.
2. Apply restorative services that can impact Medicare A and Common Medicare Infrastructure strategies to facilitate increased revenue at the facility level.
3. Schedule specific restorative programs with nursing, physical, occupational, and speech therapy in a facility.
