CONTENT

This webinar will focus on the Staffing component of the Nursing Home Compare Five-Star Quality Rating System. You will learn how the staffing rating is calculated and how it impacts your overall Five-Star Rating. Tips on how to analyze your data and develop plans to achieve Five-Star status will be discussed, along with application of the elements of QAPI to improve facility Five-Star Ratings and improve staff retention.

 

OBJECTIVES

  1. Understand the Staffing component of the Five-Star Quality Rating System.
  2. Understand how the Staffing component impacts the overall Five-Star Rating.
  3. Describe how staffing levels impact resident outcomes and satisfaction.
  4. Acquire knowledge to implement best practices for Five-Star staffing improvement using a QAPI approach.

 

AUDIENCE

Directors of nursing, assistant directors of nursing, nurse managers, nursing home administrators, nursing staff and leaders, and quality assurance directors in nursing facilities.

 

PRESENTER

Shelly Maffia, MSN, MBA, RN, LNHA, QCP, Director of Regulatory Services for Proactive Medical Review & Consulting, has more than 15 years of leadership and consulting experience. Shelly has held positions as director of nursing, nursing home administrator, and corporate nurse consultant and has experience in various training positions. Currently, Shelly provides consultation on regulatory compliance to nursing facilities in multiple states. Her expertise includes developing clinical training tools, policies, procedures, protocols, and training programs on systems, processes, and best practices. Shelly is a QAPI Certified Professional (QCP) through the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordinators.

 

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT

Individuals participating in the webinar can earn 1.25 hours of continuing education credit by paying the additional $15 per person continuing education credit fee.

When registering for the webinar, enter the name, title, and email address for each person requesting continuing education credit.

Continuing education documentation will be emailed to registrants upon completion of the webinar.

Continuing education credit is provided through the National Association of Long-Term Care Administrator Boards (NAB). This webinar is approved for 1.25 hours of continuing education credit.
