This program runs August 19-28 and is designed to prepare the participant to meet the requirements of the Medication Aide Act and to assume the role and responsibilities of a medication aide. The program is intended for the medication aide in an assisted living facility, nursing facility, or intermediate care facility for people with intellectual disabilities. This program is a must for all health care professionals who provide services to residents with dementia. There is a continuing need for caregivers who are trained to provide appropriate, competent, and sensitive direct care to residents who have dementia. Following successful completion of this program, participants are one step closer to receiving their certified dementia practitioner (CDP®) certification.
This 1.25 hour session will assist SNF providers in understanding the new requirements related to trauma informed and culturally competent care. A review of regulatory requirements regarding trauma informed and culturally competent care with an analysis of the interpretive guidance related to this requirement will be emphasized.
AUDIENCE: Social services, directors of nursing, assistant directors of nursing, nurse managers, nursing home administrators, nursing staff and leaders, quality assurance directors, and staff development in nursing facilities.Find out more »

Nebraska Health Care Foundation will host its annual golf tournament on Monday, Sept. 23, to raise funds for health care education scholarships. Yankee Hill Golf Course will be the site of the four-person scramble. Registration will open soon. The tournament is limited to 36 teams.Find out more »
