LPN IV Didactic & Skills Training

There are new state regulations that require all licensed practical nurses to complete an IV therapy eight-hour didactic course prior to Aug. 24, 2022. All LPNs must complete the training to maintain an active Nebraska license, regardless of whether they will be performing IV therapy in their work setting. This course meets the didactic portion of the new requirement and counts toward the annual continuing education requirement for an LPN license. LPNs who have been previously licensed as LPN‑Cs or graduated after May 1, 2016, have already fulfilled the new requirements, and do not need to complete the didactic and skills training.
You must complete this NHCA LPN IV Therapy Course before you can take the NHCA LPN IV Therapy Basic Skills Course. Attendees may register for either didactic online, didactic and skills, or skills only if the didactic was previously completed.

This workshop will prepare nursing facilities and assisted living communities for the day the survey team walks in their doors. This workshop will review the basics of preparing for a survey, current trends in the survey process, and how to train staff to prepare for a survey. A panel discussion focused on sharing both the provider and surveyor perspectives of the survey process will provide insight into survey preparation.
