Several measures are in place to support the provision of quality care to Nebraska’s nursing and assisted living facility residents.
The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services regularly inspects nursing and assisted living facilities making sure they meet standards set by the state and federal governments. In addition, many facilities participate in national quality improvement programs.
The Nebraska Nursing Facility Association and Nebraska Assisted Living Association operate a Cool Line service. The Cool Line assists nursing and assisted living facility residents, family members, employees, and citizens to address concerns or complaints that they are not comfortable sharing with a facility or have attempted to resolve with dissatisfactory results.
