Working with your Senator

NNFA and NALA encourages its members and consumers to build and sustain effective relationships with their state and federal governmental representatives in the interest of long-term care. Individuals, as constituents and long-term care providers, are often significantly more persuasive than an Association staff member or contract lobbyist because the constituent is a voter in the district, has economic and social ties in the district, and can speak about how legislation affects the district from a day-to-day, practical perspective.

The NNFA/NALA Guide to Facility Visits can be used to organize a visit to your facility from an elected official or candidate. It also includes a guide to making a facility short profile to give to policy makers. Contact to obtain the Guide to Facility Visits.
