Webinar Online, 1200 Libra Drive, Suite 100
Lincoln, NE 68512 United States

With the implementation of the Requirements of Participation, it’s more important than ever to provide quality activities based upon person-centered preferences. Activities cannot be designed as one size fits all’ or a ‘program.’ They must be developed as an approach that encompasses a team culture with creative and innovative activities, which are, adapted to meet or enhance individual abilities for quality of life. Quality engagements and interactions are the heart and soul of activity-focused care. Not only activity staff, but caregivers and volunteers need to know each person’s life story in order to engage and communicate in a meaningful manner. Come to this session to experience activity-focused care and what meaningful engagement means to each individual.

Webinar Online, 1200 Libra Drive, Suite 100

When you have experienced insurmountable challenges – how do you overcome? My son Shane is a true example. He has taught me the true meaning of resiliency. After being critically wounded in Iraq, he returned home to meet extreme challenges. Nothing would ever be the same. As a caregiver, I had to prepare for new life with Shane. I was the pupil; he was my teacher. Never give up! When you break down the injuries and what the result engaged on a person, it can provide positive change: identify triggers to post traumatic stress syndrome, define ways to adapt to change, and examine ways to engage with your community. Promote overcoming adversity.
